Ewen dropped by (actually drove in a snowstorm for an hour or two) to pick up the engine stands and dolly that I built for the engine replacement project that I did last year. Boy - cold, windy, and snowy, and sheet ice on my driveway from yesterday's rain gave us both a tumble... Nice to finally put a face to a name, and meet a neighbour bus nut! Brian |

Yup, great to get together on a windy snow swept morning! Busnuts are a funny breed, eh? I have the dolly and stand, where's the busnut with the coach, time and camera to shoot the educational tutorial on MCI drive train removal? happy coaching! buswarrior |

Maybe BW introduced Brian to some Molson and THAT caused them to tumble! You can't always blame mother nature IF you know the source! Just sayin' |

Ewen, Brian and myself are all intimately familiar with the Molson brand which defines us, Ace, no problemo. Except there's nothing we can do about the U.S. ownership of such a distinguished brew. You'd best not screw it up on us :-) Um, I think I have been called upon to pick up my video camera and make a comedy film about people falling in snowy icy Canada, followed by some serious engine lifting / pulling / etc. So, I feel myself to be tasked and so it shall come to pass. Even in the winter. Hang on Buswarrior... I have the case of Molson's on board! Ian www.busnut.com |

Ian you do know that it is illegal to transport beer across a provincial boarder. And if the good folks south of the 49 th get a taste for REAL beer, who knows what could happen? |

The question is - which Molson's? Saying you like Molson's is like saying you like girls - sure, they are all great, but do you like the tall ones, the redheads, the blond bombshells? the Golden, the Export, the Rickards Red? The Brador, for an extra kick on a cold winter's night? The Blue Moon, for an exotic taste? Even - the Canadian? Canadian trivia - for beer drinkers only... The Export label that everyone thinks is a nice sailing ship is actually an armadillo standing on it's head. And the Molson Golden label that everyone things is a nice lion - is actually a seal having oral sex with a monkey... (check out the labels, and pretend you've had a half dozen samples...)( sorry, I never liked Golden - I was an Export man! Brian |

Ewen You should not a need tutorial, just remove the 4 shackels undo the drive shaft intake and exhaust a few linkages and a few hoses. Hookup your comealong and start pulling. Its like giving birth, a couple of Molsons along the way will make the process go a lot easier. Joe. |

If I was better about posting pictures I would put some up, i have some that I took a month and a half ago when putting the 6v71 back into the MC1. Its your current situation in reverse. Newer transmission, lots of complications, clutch rebuilding, linkages etc, but the old girl is ready for the next decade. |

Ian pontificated: "Molson Canadian Lager Beer. Molson Export Ale. But I remember it this way... Export is crap." Brian rebutted - "that's because you never noticed that the Export label was actually an armadillo standing on it's head, so what can you possibly know about good beer?" Beer is the generic term for a brewed beverage, lager and ale refer to the type of fermentation, yeast and usually the temperature at which fermentation takes place. Lagers are cold fermented, and are typical of Germany and more eastern Europe, where they had better refrigeration and generally cold weather. Ales are more typical of England, where they have a more moderate climate and Lucas refrigerators... Brian |
