Sam, I had considered just covering mine over with fiberglass sheets, as my center section, and one side section are fiberglass in the rubber moulding stuff. If each piece were about 1" wider on each edge, it would be enough to lap over onto the steel. If you find something "pre-made", please let me know. Steve Toomey |

My 4107 has an R&M rear window cap separate from the engine cover. |

Gus, Do you by chance have a picture of the back of your 07 so I can see what it looks like. John V, your site did not have any photos, only ones were of when you were in the Air Force. Thanks Guys Sam |

Sam - If you're planning on keeping the OEM styling of the coach's rear glass area, I believe you're going to have to custom fabricate what you want. IIRC, R&M's fiberglass rear caps are just that - caps that cover the entire rear of the coach above the engine compartment, making the bus look like a stick 'n staple. You might contact Luke @ US Coach (1-888-262-2434) and see if he still has any complete rear window rubber seals. If he does, just about any good plastics shop can duplicate the curvature of the OEM glass in Lexan or similar. I've also seen where GMC owners have riveted in and painted a single steel panel to cover the former glass area, thus maintaining the OEM styling. Altho the rivets look somewhat tacky, if you keep the "blackout" window treatment all around the coach, they're not very visible. OTOH, on a replacement panel painted white they stand out. Is your glass broken? I'm not sure, but somebody told me at one time that Fishbowl rear glass center sections are the same as the Buffalo's - ask Luke while you've got him on the phone. (If you do ask him, let us know!) Oh, and a bit of trivia - same-vintage Fishbowls had an option a "clean-air" package, where the outer glass panels were replaced with an engine air intake on the right, and the exhaust routed thru the left, and keeping the large center glass. I saw something similar on a Buffalo at the Bus Conversions rally in Laughlin, NV back in '94 or '95, may have a pic of it somewhere, if you're interested. One other thing - If you're not already aware, the big 7" tail, brake and turn signal lights on the back of your coach are the same as many skoolies use. You might consider changing the turn signals to the new amber LED models - our local districts have, and boy, are they BRIGHT! Cannot miss them, even in inclement weather. A nice SAFTEY upgrade! FWIW & HTH. . .

I just remembered that a fellow bus nut several years ago found some fiberglass 1/4 inch panel and was able to form them in to replace the glass which couldn't be found at the time and installed new rubber in it.. One side was smooth and the other was fiberglass look. Another thought is Lowes or construction company ?? 1/4 inch is flexable and will work.. Gomer |

I have a buddy that parted out a 4107 and he listed the rear Glass sections here some months past. I had the rear section welded in and braced on Phoenix it was very well done. Oh the pain. |

Personally, I never cared for the look of the upper window area on the 4107-4905 models. Made it look like the rear of a city bus somewhat. They were probably designed that way for increased strength due to the increased rear height in those models. Maybe also for better rear body integrity in accidents or roll overs. Maybe it provided more protection of rear glass or better see through angle? |

I changed both sets of my 7" stop and turn signals to red LED. U.S.A. is the only country that has red rear facing turn signals. All other countries have orange (that's how you tell a foreign car is made exclusively for U.S.-if it has red turn signals). I kept all red since I wanted all 4 burning as running lights (you're not supposed to have rear facing orange running lights). The only down side to the LED's is that they take such little power to run, I had to install a 100ohm resister to the brake lights to make my King Cruise Control sense the brake lights. Minor. Good Luck, TomC |

I know it is probably taller than my 5C but here is a picture of my back cap and it looks like what you describe Sam! Maybe they make the same replica for yours. It has the window look and same slope as the original and have seen some painted black to look like the window where it is inset. Dave |

sam sorry it was on it when I bought it. I don't know. Just show it because you asked to see any that looked like the window. I would call R&M and ask if they make it for the 5C with the window indent or can make it. Dave |

Sam - That back "cap" on Dave's MC-5C is OEM from the factory - they never had a rear window. The 5C uses the same rear cap as the MC-8, as they were both in production at the same time. As I said earlier, if you want to keep the factory styling, you're going to have to do some yanquiengineering. FWIW & HTH. . .

Didn't know that 1. Thanks ,RJ Sam it actually is 4 pieces. The window piece that fits under the top cap and over the piece that holds the upper hinge for the upper engine door on the lower edge. Then the 2 side pieces that fit under the top cap also. Dave |
