Been reading Scott's posts and others working under and around the coach. Likeing all the blocking and safety advice given, but just thought i would toss in some stuff. When Scott got a butt crack full of snow i had to laugh (since it wasent me this time) George Myers used to grab tossed out carpet and use it for working under the bus. I save large pieces of cardboard cause you can slide easily and its some insulation from the cold ground. In Fla it works for keeping out of the sand and ants. I also have 4 big sheets (4X4) of hi density foam that is used on kids playrooms. It works great and makes kneeling down easier on the knees. I have cut one up for smaller knee pads. The only issue now is i am getting blue from the foam. |

I have several pieces of cardboard I use for this. Discard them as they get too dirty. I got some a few years back that had bubble wrap on one side that were great. Most of the bubbles have finally popped from knee pressure from getting up and down. Loved them. I have a piece of colored foam rubber that I got at car show and flea market that works nice. I just roll it up and tie for storage. However, I still use the cardboard pieces a lot and replace the worst ones when I get new large replacements from window washer, auto body part, and dryer boxes. |

Rubber mud flaps off a big truck are another aid in the battle to keep us off the hard/cold ground. They also have some anti-fatigue value as mats at the bench at a lower cost. I also use fresh ones in the back of the SUV in the busnuts' fruitless attempt to keep the carpet presentable when dragging treasures around. happy coaching! buswarrior |

Cardboard=Redneck Creeper! Very affordable, biodegradeable, and easy to slide on. What more could you ask for? Jack |

Some years ago, a bus nut showed a stone creeper. Bottom was bowed slightly with Formica bonded on it and no wheels. That sucker would slide around on gravel like ice. |
