If a fresh water tank has three 1/2 inch fittings and One larger fitting (not sure of the exact size) can two of these tanks be linked side by side to form a larger capacity without too much trouble?

Thanks

depends on where the fittings are & what position the tanks will be in...if the fittings are pointing down..would be the easiest way

I like to keep my tanks separate, simply because then I have control over the occasional dummy that takes too long a shower or trys to clean a frypan with the water running. If only one tank is avaliable at a time, he can't screw me and use it all up by mistake (and I've seen this happen with other RV's more than once in just a few years)

I've got three 50 gallon tanks, side by side under the bed, separately valved into the water pump inlet. Additionally I can control the weight distribution in the bus by controlling how much water is used from which tank as we camp. 1500 pounds of water is something to think about....

Ace: Yes they can, and you can isolate them by installing a valve in the cross-over line or install a valve at the connection of the cross-over into each tank for individual tank control. The larger un-threaded fitting is for a vent tube or a gravity fill hose connected to the gravity fillers where u stick a hose in them and fill the tank (should be on the top side) and u must vent each tank in the gang.

Not usually a FL problem , but the crossover line might also make a good drain to winterize.

Or just to dump foul water.

Be sure to use FOOD GRADE hose that light can't get thru.
