My front license plate is mounted on a hinged plate located between the headlights. The hinge is on the bottom but there appears to be some sort of latch centered at the top. Does this open some how or just a lic plate mount? |

Just a guess, and don't stand on it until you check it out thoroughly, but it MAY be an add-on folding step to help wash the windshield? Check and see if it unlatches and hinges down, and has some strength to stand on. G |

Should be a push button below license plate mount to open. Not much room behind the plate mount but we sometimes put small things in there when we are parked. Be interesting to know why GM made this small area. |

Our '59 has that hinged holder on .on both front & back. Looks like they might have had multiple plates. |

My wife and I purchased our already converted coach from a local church in April of 2011. A tearcher at a school on my route (my wife and I are school bus drivers) told me about the bus in October 2010. We couldn't afford the asking price of 2k (yep 2,000), I asked around and tried to find them a buyer. No takers due to the economy. In April they made us an offer we could not refuse. It was the deal of a lifetime. It runs great and came with about 100 gallons of diesel. |

I have some pictures on my Facebook page. A couple exterior, and a couple of the inside. Talking to another bus nut from this group, and seeing his 1960 - rig. Ours is a lil unique. It has 3 windows/sun roofs in the ceiling spaced about every 4 feet. The drivers window has 3 seperate glass pieces. |

jon, look at the top of the part that hinges down and you should find a hole that you put your finger in and push down on the inside spring clip this will release the front door allowing it to fold down. this is how the grey hound people changed the plate when needed. you now have a great bus. mel 4104 |
