Just returned from a three week trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia, but not without a couple of events calling for a tow and a gen fix.

Effingham, Il. Peterbuilt dealer gave us excellent service and reasonable pricing on replacement of a starter. A sister company located at the same facility towed us a quarter of a mile from the Flying J. Also very reasonable and timely. Good folks; accomodating and friendly.

"Holy Moses" in the Calais, ME area gave fast, reasonable and excellent mobile service when our genset went amuck. Turned out to be mostly condensation in the gas tank and a couple of fouled plugs. He says he is the only mobile heavy vehicle service in Northern Maine.....even services
Bangor. Highly recommend. ....and that is how you reach him....Holy Moses....Dan Moses) :) Good people!!!

Beautiful time of year in the Northeast part of our continent. New England had a lot of folks, busy Freeways and by-ways, but as ever, very colorful in the fall. Nova Scotia a very pleasant surprise in many ways....New Brunswick as well. Fuel prices VERY high....in Canada, 90 cents plus per litre....High of $2.27 per gallon in New England...

Yessir, New England is a great place to visit...

The most beautiful fall foliage, history around every corner, beautiful scenery, quaint places to visit, wonderful summer weather, lots of natural wonders, plenty of great places to stay, awesome resturants, wonderful seafood, warm and friendly people...

You might even be lucky enough to be born and raised there, like I was...

But boy am I ever so glad I moved away from the cost of living, the unemployment, the 52" inches of rain a year, the snow, the days and days of overcast gray skies...

Yep, REALLY nice place to visit, but sure wouldn't wanna live there anymore!

But Brian...

Barry Manilow wrote a song about it, so it can't be all that bad!

Who? Who?? Everybody sing together...

Weekend In New England

Last night, I waved goodbye, now it seems years
I'm back in the city, where nothin' is clear
But thoughts of me, holdin' you, bringin' us near

And tell me, when will our eyes meet?
When can I touch you?
When will this strong yearnin' end?
And when will I hold you again?

Time in New England, took me away
To long rocky beaches and you by the bay
We started a story whose end must now wait

And tell me, when will our eyes meet?
When can I touch you?
When will this strong yearnin' end?
And when will I hold you again?

I feel the change comin', I feel the wind blow
I feel brave and daring!, I feel my blood flow,
With you I could bring out all the love that I have
With you there's a heaven, so earth ain't so bad

And tell me, when will our eyes meet?
When can I touch you?
When will this strong yearnin' end?
And when will I hold you again?
Again.

Ahhhhh, come on, admit it, everyone was singing weren't they? I'll bet even Ace & Marc were singing... ok, maybe not together, but singing nonetheless!!

He he he he, that's funny Ian, but you see, it is not bad, not bad at all...

In fact New England is really quite wonderful

To VISIT

Which is why, you'll note that old Barry sings "...time in New England took me away..."

As opposed to

...serving time in New England, they locked me away...

If he'd actaully lived there.

But even the name of the song spells it out

"Weekend in New England"

the subtitle to that shoulda been...

But NEVER more than a month!!!

(grin)
