I drove one 200,000 miles..with Rotella...the ones without a turbo have usually got the r.p.m.s turned up & they have a short lifespan..15-40 is what I used.. |

Ed I drove trucks with 3208 Cats for Ford Mo.Co. for about 15 years and we had 3208 Cats In them we used Rotella 15-40 In them make sure that It Is for the 4 stroke Engine and not the 2 stroke Detroit. when the 3208's first come out they was throw away engines but from what I understand now you can put sleeves and pistons in them. Ed, Have run straight 40w in my marine 1983 3208N (non turbo) for 20 years. This info out of o&m manual, cd/se cd/sf ss/se cc/sf 15w-40 from 5 degrees to 122 30w from +32 to 104 40w from +40 to 122 I run 4ow due to the hotter temps generated in the marine enviro. Tim |

Any CF-4 or better SAE15W-40 is fine; were it me, I'd use the $1.09-a-quart/$4-a-gallon Super Tech stuff from Wal-Mart. |
