Just came from HD and noticed they now carry, or at least it's the first time I've seen it, Sikaflex. 3 something and 8 something depending on the size tube you want. Look in the insulation dept.!

Don't forget to watch the expiration dates on those tubes of sikaflex.

Yeah, if it gets old you'll wish you had a air or electric caulking gun. Or Popeye forearms.

Even when its fresh its a bear to get out of the tube. But, boy, does it ever stick. For permanent mounting I don't think it can be beat.

try placing the tube in a water proof plastic bag and then put it in warm water and let sit till the heat goes through out the tube and the try using it you might find that it goes on much faster. mel 4104

SikaFlex is more or less a specialty product and its short shelf life is a strong determining factor.

I predict that HD will have problems in this area and will not carry them for more than a year or so.

Sika is a very particular product, the instructions are specific about using their cleaner and another product -=- this coupled with the limited working time makes this a special product, probably not for the "ocasional" project person.

I've used both, and I haven't observed that much difference between the standard Sika and 3M5200.

On another note, I believe that home depot will bring about the ultimate extinction of the Human Race.
