Two Dogs win the lottery? Last I heard you were looking for Air Assist...

But seriously, what do you need?

I have XM and like it. I get good reception, although people claim sirius has less fadouts. The only time I lose reception is going under overpasses and in some heavily wooded areas. I'm sure two dogs will fit right into "Hank's Place" on xm-13!

Installation: I have the Roady xm radio receiver-- it uses a cassette adaptor, cigarette plug adaptor (12v), and a small magnetic antenna that goes on the roof of the bus or car. It also comes with an FM transmitter if your radio only has a cd player. It's either get a system like this, or buy a brand new in dash radio with the xm built in. I like my portable unit-- I can move it from vehicle to vehicle or plug it into the stereo in the house with the home kit.

I have tried both and feel XM does a much better job. I agree, Hanks place (ch 13) is the best. Not sure Sirus (?) will be around in 12 months, at least not as we know it today.

Stuck a small XM glue mount antenna above my upper left marker, ran the wire behind the light, down the windshield molding to the receiver mounted just forward of shifter buttons (this is the little XM receiver that you can move to a boom box, dash of car etc.) and ran audio cable to input on the back of radio/amp input. Sounds great. Looks neat. Almost no fades while traveling and if you buy the three year package you save some money.

I love my XM. On the eagle I use a xm boom box.It can be batt poweredor 110V. Ant has a 25' cord so I just put the ant on the dash or by a window. Can take it with you and no perminet installation.

I was thinking about mounting it in the bus...have just seen short ads on t.v. I know nothing about it...is it an antena that plugs into a radio..or radio too ??talked to a lady at wal-mart...she said it was a certain price PLUS a hook-up for the car/bus & if you wanted it in your home you had to buy an additional package..I'm totaly mixed-up now...anybody know the prices & what they are for ??and is the subscription 10.00 a month for the service ?

TWO DOGS - I drive about 35k a year and have had XM for 9 months. It's the greatest to listen too and I never listen to music. Over 100 channels and lots of talk, NASCAR and a truck station that talks about oils, wheel balancers, alignment, etc. I just bought two replacement systems on Ebay for $52 each, plus shipping. This one has a tape adaptor, antenna, power source and the unit "roady". It runs on 6v. and in my Diesel Excursion I have a hidden voltage reducer and adaptor to play through the 6 disc CD - no tape adaptor.
I paid $499 for five years for the first unit and $165 total for two years for units 2-4.
Easy to hook up and really makes the miles float by.

i would suggest getting a receiver that is satellite ready and not the home and car unit. much better quality. i have my main car and motor home wired so i can swap it between them. unless you can plug the home-auto unit directly into the radio any radio station near the same frequency will kill it,cause the unit broadcasts on a fm frequency. i would get a cheap unit for each service and pay for it month to month and see which one you like and go with it. i have sirius and love it. and howard stern is coming to sirius in early 06... sirius is a few bucks more a month but it all comes down to the programming you want. i,m sure you'll be happy with either service and with no commercials on most stations you will never go back....Bob

I have xm in my 4905 and I put 40k in 8 mnths every year and I pnly lose the signal when I am in tunnels or under large overhead bridges. I have a cassett unit with a second antenna. I move to my boat or goldwing or second car. Works great and for ten bucks a month I am happy. Mike4905

Two Dogs, if you have a Best Buy in your area, go in and talk to someone in the car audio section. In our area (Miami, FL) the guy was very knowledgeable and told us exactly what components we would need in our bus and in our toad. At Best Buy they don't work on commission, and he spent all the time with us that we needed till we understood how it would need to be installed. "We" (meaning my husband, LOL) did the installation part ourselves.

Two Dogs, you might want to consider Sirius radio, there is an All Elvis, all day channel.

I have Sirius installed in my car. I love it. I should have obtained the portable model to move from vehicle to vehicle and home, kind of like the Direct TV receiver one can take with you and place at camp sites. The exception being that you can listen to Sirius as you drive without interruption. Let's not foget that Howard Stern is coming aboard in a few years (Tsk, Tsk).
