Ian, you are obviously thrilled about your update. You have posted 8 threads about the update. You've completely drowned out any conversation about buses with your update. It's OK. Look, scribes are thrilled with their quills. I suspect that a long discussion about the merits of various feathers are interesting to them. But I've had enough of the update. Please consider restricting it to one thread. Folks interested in it can read it. As it is, with 8 or 10 threads, you can't see any bus-related topics on the initial list. Brucd | ||

it's a good resource, and i've added my bits here and there; just want it back on topic. if I wanted to talk about bbs software issues, i'd start a company. i wrote a bbs in 1981 -- i'm long since done being interested in configuration options for software. (Editor's note: Bruce, I appreciate your input to the bulletin board. I remarked on what I was doing because I got hammered with dozens of messages on and off the board from viewers. Thought I'd be considerate of their requests. Just like I was considerate of yours by putting all comments in this one thread. And frankly, I don't care about your bbs. Ian.) | ||

WELL I'm gonna say another thing about the board. It may have gone unnoticed, but we now have the thread title in the titleBar. THAT is a BIG improvement for those of us who use tabbed browsing. The one I have always used, and now works again is the following: http://www.busnut.com/bbs (Don, please do not, I repeat, DO NOT put a URL on this bulletin board that redirects my viewers to the wrong web address to view the bulletin board. I don't care what your bookmark is, but don't post it here. Everyone must bookmark the above link which I have corrected in Don's message. If you use any other URL, you will lose the bulletin board because every script will be running from a different web address than the one Don attempted to leave here, when I change servers next week. I@N, will I still be able to use the shortcut that I now use? (you and I know what it is (LOL) Richard (Editor's Note: See? Post it once and just look at the mess! -  - The answer is no, Richard. I suggest that when you see us gone from your computer, you go back to our home page and access the board that way. As everyone has likely figured out, the www.busnut.com/bbs default page is a "re-direct" page to the first cgi script which generates the main Topics page - that's why all links on this web site point to that address. Everyone can access the board from there. The path to that script will change once the changeover to the new server is complete and I set up the bbs again. It won't look different in the "Location/Address" bar of your browser, but the absolute path to the operating script is hidden and it is that path which changes. I can program the "re-direct page" to point anywhere, so setting up the bbs is a matter of changing one line of html code - a computer language that I speak fairly fluently! Confused?
