Hi all Webasto Owners,

It's time to do that annual check up on your Webasto. Careful inspection could save big $$$.

When you have the unit open to clean the flame sensor ( I find Acetone best, be careful with it.) Use on Q-tip. Cleans the Gluck off just fine. You should be able to see the little wires in the sensor clearly. Next clean and gap the igniter. Use the little gauge fastened on top of the boiler.

Finally, Be sure to pull the flame tube and inspect it very carefully for cracks. It should slip out by hand. If not get two pairs of pliers and give it a good yank. if it is hard to get out, that is even more important to inspect it.. It is probably warped.

In my case a piece had broken out of the top, and allowed flame to impinge directly on the boiler which caused it to crack.. $865 later I had everything right again!!! Wow, a very expensive lesson to learn. New flame tube would have saved the boiler.

Note: If you have a brain box failure, it may be repairable.. I had a tab break the solder joint at the board. I just carefully took the box apart and slid the PCB out. Found the bad joint and re soldered it. While it was out I traced quite a bit of the wiring on the PCB. It's not that complicated. Mostly just relays.

Is the service process about the same on the Pro-heat brand?
