How far north G? I don't know of any in No Cal personally, but I know of a great DD shop in So Oregon, can't recommend them highly enough. Honest and fair. If you go there tell them I said hello. Great folks. http://www.southernoregondiesel.com/ hope this helps! Bob

I agree, If mine needs any engine work and I can get it up there, Southern Oregon Diesel would be my first choice. Not even close second here on the west coast. Very good people, very knowledgeable.

I agree, SOD has come highly recommended several times. I was actually looking for something more towards Sacramento/Stockton.

Thanks

G,

Since I live in Stockton, and had as a next door neighbor a DD 2 stroke rebuilder, I had, until he passed away, a resource close, if not equal to the Gregory's. I also used to see the results of other "local" rebuilder's "attempts" as they eventually wound up and came to Kay.

Only shops left, to my knowledge, that could be recommended, (except by chance), to so such work are going to be the big dollar units with lots of facility overhead, etc.

I'll point out SoOreDiesel has a great warranty plan. Dave's came thru Stockton on one occasion with a full warranty replacement that he delivered! None of this, "bring it back to the shop", BS. IIRC, a new factory part failed. He brought the engine to CA, to the repair facility and supervised/assisted with the reinstall of the replacement. IT DON'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT!. He not only stands behind his product, but the bus as well while making sure it's right!

Onward and Upward

Amen!

(To truly understand the comment one would need to know that Kay Bingham was a Bishop in the Church of Latter Day Saints. A man true to his calling!)
