In the beginning their was Wannabe's And they roamed the earth looking for their bus. Sometimes they thought they saw their bus but it was scooped up by another. They even bought one with a "Buy it now" on the evil E-bay, but it was somehow sold to another Wannabe. It looked as if they would wander busless forever. Only to smell the diesel fumes, but never to create them. Then through a strange set of circumstances involving the BNO BBS Flea market and a passing question they came to meet there bus. Oh she was beautiful, she shyly peeked from around the barn and I knew instantly that this was the one for me. 1975 GMC 4905A Now the real work(and Fun) begins. Cliff |

Congrats on your new bus. Here's hoping it suits you well, so you will never be a wannabe again. BTW, Methinks you or the seller should donate $50 to I@N in niceness for arranging a place for the possibility for a sale to occur... Just me thinking out loud, nothing negative intended.

Yeah, 408 cu ft of storage there, enough to make the Eagle people turn green with envy. At that time it had the largest baggags space of any bus made! I still think they are a wise choice. If you want to look at a hundred or more photos of mine in progress, email me at DonGeneda@direcway.com and I will give you an internet link to view them. |

One of the things I didn't mention in my original post was the genteman I purchased my bus from. Many of you may know Bob Spena from his articles in Bus Conversion Magizine, or on one of the Bulletin Boards. Bob is truly a gentleman and a busnut through and through. Due to some recent health issues Bob sold me his bus. I learned an incredible amount from him in our first three hour meeting and I can tell that we will be getting together many times over the period that I am working on this conversion. Yes, Bob's loss is my gain. But I think Bob knows that this Ole 4905A is in good hands. Cliff |

Please welcome Cliff (Floridacracker)Current who as of last night is no longer a wannabee, but now a certified and official busnut. He is now the proud owner of "This Old Bus" a GMC 4905A. Some health issues have forced me abandon our bus project for now but I have Cliff's assurance that we will have many meetings during the course of his conversion, so I can still keep my hand in. Thanks to all. |

Y'know, the only time I ever bought a vehicle and had practically everyone I told congratulate me, was when I got my 96A3, one of the sweetest feelings in my life. Congratulations Cliff! Brian |

No matter what the condition, I guess you know us old timers is gonna''spect to see it at Arcadia next month !!!!! Cheers...JJ 4905A BTW- mother-in-law bay...I can't say much about that, but while in Spokane, WA a couple of years ago, a gent stopped by in a 4905 with a trapdoor in a bay for the kids at night. (5 an 8 yr. olds) What a ruckus- seems every kid in the place had his dad's hacksaw out going to do surgery on the old man's toy !!!! |

Congratulations Cliff! I should have been on this forum when I announced the purchase of my bus. Instead I proudly announced it to the general (non-busnut) public. I was scorned, but stuck to my plans. Glad I did too. Though I would love having it all finished and be traveling in it, I also enjoy the whole conversion process. Something about it makes the bus feel more like your own. I know you'll enjoy and probably become very captured by the whole experience. |

Even Prevost owners can envy the 4905 owner. That bus is a masterpiece of engineering. And soooo much bay space. |

Thanks everybody for your posts and encouragements. I hope to meet as many of you as I can in Arcadia. Talking my wife into sleeping in the 4905A shell instead of the comforts of Her Class C may be a challenge. Well see! Cliff |
