I got the bus started and sounds ok. I removed filters and replaced also put sea foam in primary filter filled both filters with fuel and had to use a squirt of john deer either. primary filter was only half full when i removed it. any advice while in this cold climate. I can't leave till after dec 18th. then off to murfreesburo tenn. for christmas with the daughter and ex. then to fla for a few months. should i start it every day and let it run for a while and also i saw arctic deisel fuel should i use it? would go to the bus rally if I had a gig there but probably can't go other wise cause I need to work and pay for bus stuff

You don't need artic until the temperature gets down to -40. Above zero number one diesel is adequate.

Ron,
I live very close to Murfreesboro and operate two small diesels. Just a word of advice. If we get a sudden cold snap the only places that have fuel blended for that weather are the Big truck stops with the premimum prices. I learned the hard way one Dec. a couple years ago that lower cost diesel from the small dealer gels as we sat along side the road and had to be towed and brought inside to thaw the wifes VW out. Now my operating technique is to bring that one in, or start it if the temp. drops into the teens. My 6 ltr. Ford can be plugged in.
Mind you this isn't artic fuel, just the freshist and reblended locally for a sudden drop in temps. I spent most of my life in WI and NY and know that the diesel there has to be the artic blends.

Why not fill it with artic? You're in the cold north and it's going to
be a problem without it. Under 20, diesel begins to jell; You just
proved that out for yourself....

Captain Ron, since you say that your primary fuel filter was only half full, than means that you had air enter the pickup line from the tank.

Why don't you try just adding some fuel to the tank and see if that takes care of the problem? If it does, then the problem will be to figure out where the air came in and fix it.

I realize there are quite a few possibilities, but this is different than worrying about gelled fuel. I don't see how that could have put air in your primary filter.

For what it's worth.
