We met a couple with one of these. They had purchased if several years before and were still very happy with it. It seemed like a good rig, for a sticks and staples rig. The wife does the driving because he is legally blind.

I have no real idea what would happen to one of these if involved in an accident.

For what it's worth.

We also checked into one of these a little more than a year ago.
I really don`t remember much about it, I think it was a 1995.
It was being offered on ebay at the time.
Seemed like the seller had made a complete wire harness splice. I remember it being a flat sided white unit. And was told there was not many of them around. If I remember right, it had no tags and was 35 ft located for sale in the NE USA.
Don`t mark my word but seemed like the seller mentioned it has something to do with being a GM.
We steered away because, it was a little to rare for me. I remember thinking if I smucked a bay door I would be having one made not buying a replacement. And then I thought about the windshield if it needed to be replaced down the road. Not a common machine with parts available.
But it sure looked nice with a modern power plant and world tranny.
Best of luck wish I could tell you more.

I purchased a new one in 1995 while living in California. I believe they were built somewhere east of the Mississippi, but really do not recall for sure.

I bought a 35" unit with a 460 Ford gasoline engine, front mounted. Weight was in the 18,000 pound area and milage was a little under 4 mpg.

The rear overhang was so long and the suspension so poor that my wife could not lay on the bed while I was driving. It really bounced around very bad.

Much to my dismay I later discovered that the couch was only 60 inches, so I could not lay on it to watch TV.

The tires were very small and did not look like they were capable of handling something half that size, but I assume they were rated for the load.

I had a large number of problems including wiring harness burn up a couple of times and a severe dog-legging problem.

At the time it was one of the prettiest RV's (both inside and outside) on the market and that is the only good thing I have to say about it.

I only kept it about three months before I put it on the market, but could not get any offers. Finally put it on consignment at a Winnebago lot and finally sold it at about a $20,000 loss.
