Went for a short ride to a boat show in Mahone Bay in Nova Scotia Canada.

All ran well , happy to report no break downs or other hassles.

Was able to do entire trip , almost 1150 miles in cheap US fuel , didn't buy a drop in Canada, but ran on fumes over the US border.Only 140 gal in an 06 and about 125 is all thats useable.

The campgrounds are fine , with the small scenic spots charging under $20 CAN most places.

IT got real hot on the trip {us not the 06} so we headed home and jumped in lake to get cool.

Our air cond isn't hooked up yet and it didn't feel any cooler at 33C than 105F , but with the coach windows open , the interior stays at outside temp , plus breeze so it was only HOT when we stopped.

The CAN campgrounds still have trees , so it was a great trip.

ONLY problem was the computer got the Sir cam the day we left , and were just now back on line.

Please E-mail , if you have the address , so I can start the address book again.

Links to the old spots would help too.

Summer is for driving floored, great to exercise the 06 again.

CANADA is great!! to drive legally at 110 is almost as much fun as 75 in the States , but somehow it feels better.

late welcome to Canada Fred,I hope that you had a great time here and how did you like the money exchange rate? like being in heaven. the only bad part is that you were on the east coastand I live on the west coast half way up Vancouver island at parks and we did not get a chance to meet you, if you like trees every campground on the island has them and some are 5-6 feet at the stump. so come and see us the next time. thanks for coming north. mel.

AH if only my 4106 could go 110 miles per hour!!

Would take a 2.56 pumpkin and probably wouldn't do too well on those steep .5% grades.

110 klicks is only 70mph or so ,

at my own gov limit of 1950rpm.

I would love to travel at 80+mph , with the engine at 1950 , but havent been able to figure a way to do it.

Perhaps when the transits with Cummings become avilable in the scrap yards ,
I can find a place to swop the entire cradle and rear in , without costing a fortune.

Hey Fred, we probably passed each other somewhere. We just got back from 2 weeks on the road. West Palm Bch, FL to Hershey, PA. Then North to I-90 in New York, West to Niagara Falls. Back East across NY to Orange, MA. Northeast to Bar Harbor, ME. Then, regrettably, South back to Florida.

4200 miles in our 4104. 9.5 MPG on the flat, 9 in the mountains. She survived the 5 mile 5% grades through PA (74mph at the bottom, 25 at the top) and what must be 700 miles of concrete I-90 highway in NY with a 1" drop at each joint every 20 feet!

Nothing broke, she never overheated in the 95+ degree heat and never missed a beat.

I am now a qualified Spicer gear-jammer, having perfected downshifting at various speeds on mountains. (Kind of a do or die test!)

My wife drove it about 700 miles down on flat ground (she can't downshift yet).

Can't wait to get out there again!
