I went about 400 miles this weekend and had 2 problems. 1. airline broke that goes to air gauge. 2. linkage for 1st and 2nd gear came off tranny. both things happen together. I plugged the air line fixed the linkage and was only 1 hour late for my show. I thought there was some kind of safety valve that prevented all of your air from depleting in a situation like that? I'll be heading for Murfreesburo Tenn. monday to visit my daughter for a couple days and do a show there. then to south georgia to meet a couple bus nuts. then to Gainsville to get rid of ac. and go to the all harley drag races. then to Fort Myers beach by monday ans start working on wed. Wish me luck TwoDogs |

The air gauge is connected to the aux. air tank. Aux air runs wipers, suspension, etc. There is a pressure regulator that only allows air into the aux. tank when the brake system has 65psi in it. You can still have air in the brakes and no air showing on the dash. You should check the functionality of this and other regulators and safety devices in your air system. Usually the rubber inside them dries out. Carry plenty of little brass fittings and ferrules, and some copper tubing of various sizes. The stuff is brain-dead simple in its construction. Most air leaks/ breaks are usually inexpensive fixes... and much cheaper than dyin'. Spend some time with 'Da Book. If you have DD3 rear chambers I wish you well. They complicate matters A LOT. BTDT.
