Hello all! My friend, a local busnut with no access to the internet, asked me to post the following question for him. Howard is converting an 83' NJT MCI and needs to know how best to route electric wires from the distribution panel in the front most luggage bay into the driver area? He tells me he is able to find a way to get the wires into the compartment that holds the AC equipment, but has been unable to see how to bring the wires from there into his driver area. I'm converting a 1977 GMC 4905 and have been unable to provide any help for him on this issue. Thank you for helping. Michael |

Very tought question. Is he removing the OEM supply duct work for the heat and A/C, if not there is your answer. If he is removing the s/s duct rip up the floor to clean the return duct and run the wires there , |

I would run a 1 1/2" conduit from the compartment through the inside and top of the wheel well and into the area below the driver station. I am not 100% sure that there is a clear shot to do this in an MCI but it was a piece of cake in my Eagle 20. |

How much wiring does he need to the driver area? AC-DC? |

If he's going to raise that inclined walkway, the 6" space under it goes from the big main AC filter, clear to the area next to the driver's seat. The center of the bus holds all the AC, air and some water feeds also.. Runs thru every compartment from front to rear... Access via the covers in the center of each bay. |
