Hello we have a 1979 MCI-9 6v92t with allison trans. we recently have noticed that the transmission has started to slip some. It does not slip any at all when it is in gear, just when it is shifting gears. If you ease up on the throttle when you shift it does not do it. It seems to only slip from 2nd to 3rd and sometimes 3rd - 4th. When we bought the bus, we checked the fluid and noticed that it was low (about 2.5 gallons). It does not leak anywhere on the transmission, but the hydrolic hoses seem to be moist. I am only concerned and want to know if anyone has any suggestions.

take it to an allison dealer and have it checked.... they can check clutch and pump pressures....anything else is just a guess.... or do you want to go ahead and just trash it out???? keep driving it if you do....it may already be too late....
