Okay, I bought, only 2-3 years ago so you can tell I work fast, a K-N conversion kit from someone in Alabama on one of the forums.

This bunch of components is for a 4106.

So, I have 4 filters and four threaded rods. I am wanting to install these. Do I get the impression that the filter ends are open at the bottom and thus bring in blower air from the engine room, and not the air intakes on both sides????

Any help will be appreciated.

Have no idea what your conversion kit is supposed to do.

On my 06 I removed the manifold that runs across rear and took out the inside guts, to have the top surface for the K&N flat.

The K&N seal inside the orig oil bath with a single 3/4 inch spacer on the bottom of the old oil bath can.

The sock springs that held the old sparrow strainer oil bath still hold the can in place now.

Works great , about an hour a year of reoiling , for GREAT oil samples, and less restriction at speed.

Best is the K&N does a far better job of removing the "fines" that blow up on dusty back roads at low speeds.

Removing and cleaning the ductwork removed a couple of POUNDS of guck!
But its a pain to reinstall!!!
