I'm considering a Coleman "Park Model" 110V heat pump for my 4905. 15k btu cool, 12.5k btu heat, and draws about 14A. about $850 plus locally built duct work. Yes I know, it won't heat below 35deg.F, but other than that, is there a reason NOT to buy it??? I'm going to use a basement type, whether it is the heat pump or a regular A/C with a heat strip. I heard Carrier Corp. is doing RV stuff now, but no info locally. Anyone out there know anything about that, since I really like their other equipment? Thanks, and Cheers...JJ |

AS long as you DO realize below 35 or so you will need a different style heater / furnace , why not. Its great to be able to heat cheaply , even when its campground power , and heat pumps work well. There is the problem that cooling with a heat pump is about 10 to 15% less efficent { all those reversing valves ect}, so if you have a darker coach and go to really hot spots, the cooling may be compromised.
