I'm in the early stages of planning a trip next month to Indiana. Of course, I lost my list of Elkhart surplus stores. I found a partial list in the archives on this board. Does anyone have a complete list with addresses? I'm just interested in the ones that I can physically go to, not the online stores. Which ones are the must see's or go to first? Are they all located in one area? Any help would be much appreciated. (I'll list this on the other board, too.) |

When at rv surplus salvage be very discreet about cutting any side-deals out of the bed of a pickup truck on the side of the road beside her store; It will really tweak Trina (I think that was her name) and she gets really hostile abt. it, that is, until you ask her if she would just as soon you not buy anything from her also!!, at which time she mellows out considerably.) While there abt. 3 yrs. ago when I stopped by from picking up my Neoplan in Chicago, a guy in a pickup out on the street approached me with an offer that no reasonable person would pass on; abt. $2500 worth of appliances, new in the box, for $450. Naturally, I took him up on it. While in the store, and with a full flat dolly with abt. $1500 worth of stuff on it, she confronted me and chastised me severly for "my lack of character". When I asked her if she would prefer that I not purchase this stuff from her, she quite greedily suspended her ethical indignity, at least long enough to take my $1500.00 for her merchandise; naturally, as I exited with my merchandise to stash in the bays, I questioned her integrity and character in light of our recent transaction. Other than that, she does have a very good inventory, even though most of it is Fleetwood and Coachman class stuff. |
