In the floor close to the steering column there will be a round plate held down with a screw. Take this plate of and there will be a filler plug there. I use 90 wt. oil. |

I would make sure it uses oil in the gear box not grease. if it has the manual box. I always though it gear oil was used in the manual box type but a lot use a light weight grease. Brian 4905 Vancouver WA. |

the picture above is an 8v71, i've got an 8v71 in my mci 9, and don't have that tube. as you face the rear of the coach, look on the right side of the engine near the front of the engine itself. You should see a cylinder with a glass level check, similar to the one that you use to check radiator water level. if it's dark, its full. if you can see a spring in it its empty. The fill on mine is right there as well; a small twist cap, similar to the one in the picture. |

Check the flea market here, David... or Ebay.. Manuals are available all over for around $50 per. You'd want the MC9 manual, the Detroit Diesel manual and the MC9 parts manual. All are indispensable and worth the bucks. |

David, We have the Parts & Maint. Manuals for the MCI's. For this situation call my friends at Power Steering Specialist' in Ohio 800-235-3076. They may ask some questions so any info you can pull off of the Tag on the power steering box will help. |
