I have a valve cover that was broken by a mechanic on a service call the night I bought my bus. I bought an aluminum one to replace it and was told by another mechanic it would not fit my heads. It looks the same as far as the radius on the corners. he never tried to replace it he just looked at and said it was the wrong one. I don't want to pull the old one off and find out he's right. ?????????

All you need is the correct gasket for the v/c

I just switched the valve cover, I did have to buy new bolts, the ones with the aluminum set were way too long and the bolts with the steel set was too short. It came with the proper gasket.
I now need to find the source for an antifreeze leak.

Captain Ron...This is Captain Ken!If the coolant is getting into the oil pan It will destroy the bearings and crankshaft...If it is a slow leak it just takes more time.
I suggest you get A emmer gency oil sample And not run the engine 'till you get the results back.

PS The oil on the dipstick will look " milky " if there is quite a bit of water in the pan ..

It's an external leak not in the engine, just doesn't get hot enough at idle so I'll have to wait till monday when I drive it and get the coolant flowing.

realy didn't want to use 3 1/2" spacers and have bolts stick up that far, just my personal preferance.
