I have two radiators to in stall in the MCI 102 A3 we just purchase in New Jersey April 1. The rubber seals around the radiators are bad, the parts manual description is 3/32 Neoprene rubber. Do I make my or buy them cut to size? To make them I will need patterns. Not enough left of old seals for patterns. When I take them out, maybe I will be able to figure out the size of seals to make the new ones. Would like to replace all seals on blower compartment doors. Also left and right radiator doors seals. Can I get this seal by the rool or by the foot? Any help would be appreciated. |

Thanks Chuck Lott for good design seal site. Paul; Above suggestion may be all you need, however if you have large gap to fill between metal & radiator, you can try using foam insulating wrap pipe tube from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Not sure about choice black rubber foam or white plastic foam. Either one maybe better then other or no reliability. Maybe someone on board already tried it but it inexpensive and quick to purchase. If you will let us know what you use to satisfied your need. FWIW Sojourn for Christ, Jerry |

Hello Paul. Call me crazy... My seals were all hard and torn up around the rads in my MC8. I'm still working for a living, and taking note that replacement rads go back in a bit different than what came out, and I wasn't interested in spending all kinds of time and still end up with gaps.... Along Jerry's lines, I attached the old pieces of seal to the new rads to act as space filler, mounted them, and used good old spray can foam all around to seal up the gaps. If you line the rear rad doors with some Glad Wrap, just across the space, don't wrap the door, so it can stay in place when you open the door, spray foam the gap there too from the outside and inside, and the wrap will let you open the door without it sticking. Time it right, opening and closing the door late into the expansion, and the foam will be movable to the right shape and then expand just a bit at the end to make the door nice and tight when you close it. I think I've got more spaces sealed up this way, easy to do, quick and cheap. No need to find a vendor and run all over. Easy to carve it out when the rads have to come out again, and easy to touch up if you make a mess or a gap opens up after it cures. Air leakage around the rads is a huge issue for an MCI, especially one with an 8V92! You want absolutely all the air those fans are pulling passing through the rad, not around it through the cracks. happy coaching! buswarrior |
