I recently stayed at Lake Fairfax Park, 1400 Lake Fairfax Dr., Reston, VA. This park is located in Reston, VA just off of Baron Cameron Avenue (Rte 606) which is just off of Leesburg Pike (Rte 7). It's a nice quiet park, with a paved drive to the RV camping sites. These sites are located well within the park in a quiet area at the top of a hill. Sites are back-in, but many are roomy enough for a 40' motor coach. These are equipped with 30A electric supply, but do not have water or sewer. There is a dump station and fresh water station in the camping area adjacent to clean washroom and shower facilities. The campground has a small lake and extensive picnic area, also has a small water slide park. I found the staff to be very helpful when making reservations and when checking in. Rates were reasonable at $24.00 per night. Camping is restricted to 14 consecutive nights per stay. It's convenient to DC, but a car is a recommended as taxis can cost a lot, even just to the nearest Metro station. If you are not on a tight schedule there is also a transit bus stop just outside the park on Lake Fairfax Drive.

Here's the addition of our 2 cents... this past summer we also stayed at Lake Fairfax Park and must agree wholeheartedly with Dave. We explored with our towed vehicle and enjoyed our stay at the campground, it was very nice. It's very conveniently located for the new building of the Air and Space Museum where the Enola Gay is on display, along with many other aircraft.
