Can someone give the correct name and location of the Large shrine and church on the St Lawrence River between Monteal and Quebec. Is it Notre Dame du ?Camp?

Dry camping is allowed in LARGE church parking lot across the street and they have the blessing of the vehicles in May or June. Semed to help my bus. Lot of Canadian RVers typically there on a weekend. Pleasant place to spend a weekend. Pleasantly noisy from time to time with ships and barges going by and a rail yard that loads from them nearby.

Hi Steve,

Are you referring to the Auberge sur Mer in Notre-Dame-du-Portage and would this photograph look familiar?

If it is, I'll make the adjustment to your entry. Lemme know.

Photo does not look familiar. Place we stayed had a HUGE fenced parking lot across the street where dry camping was allowed. I mean big enough for a large bus rally. There's an idea.

Both a church and an older chapel. Story is that after a mild winter with no freeze, the river, or bay, froze in May about 100 years ago allowing the building materials to be carried over the ice for the chapel.

You're probably referring to Notre Dame Du Cap De La Madeleine (see attached url). Visited this shrine & Sainte Anne De Beaupre years ago; would like to take the wife & children there someday. Sainte Anne's pretty impressive; crutches & the like, of people that were healed, hanging from the interior walls.

Thats it. Notre Dame du Cap. Freee camping on short visits (weekend). Recommend it as a stop along the St. Lawrence north shore between Quebec and Montreal.
