A dear friend of ours has taken over the large La Penita Trailer Park in La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico and asked that I put a blurb in the newsletter. We have been going down for 15 years and know that some of the other members have been there.
For those not acquainted with the location, it is located 45 miles north of Porte Vallarte on the ocean. The park has a swimming pool that is used every day for volleyball, exercise classes and regular swimming. We have many potlucks and good parties—the Pig Roast on 2-14 being one of them. We are on a lovely beach with very few people, except for Easter, have spacious pads, good wiring, good water, cable and lots of interesting people to visit with. The town of La Penita now supplies us with the best vegetables and fruits I have ever seen plus the grocery stores are well stocked so you don’t need to bring the rig loaded. If you need a Costco fix, Sams in is PV now and as the roads have been improved, the drive is no longer a white knuckle ride. Many new sights to see and lots of new good eating places. There are good doctors and dentists—not the wait you have at the border and cheaper.
Rates are $15.00 per night, $395.00 per month and undetermined discounts at this writing for longer stays. Rates at other parks we have stayed at have been $17 to $19 and can’t compare to La Penita.
