South of Newport Beach are the beaches of another RV park right on the water. Its called Campland on San Diego's Mission Bay.

There is a little known "super site, " the likes of which you don't see in very many RV parks. There's a fence all the way around it, giving you complete privacy. You have your own private Jacuzzi, your own huge gas barbecue, and your own washer and dryer. In the winter, the "supersite" starts at around $75 a night for up to four people. The standard park rate starts around $35 per night.

For more information about Campland call 800-4-Bay-Fun (800-422-9386) or visit www.campland.com.

You can also get wintertime monthly rates at Campland By The Bay but they require you to move the RV at least once a month to abide by some city ordinance. Also, check out De Anza Bay resort right across the channel. Public golfing right next to it. Lock your bikes well and don't leave coolers of beer and such lying around as there are plenty of beachbum scuzballs in the area.
