This campground is near my home, I practically grew up with it. No boat docks but lots of sandy beach a short distance from the campground.

This campground is part of a preserve and has a swim area on Lake Michigan as well as a Hotel (Lodge) for those who wish to stay in a motel environment.

http://dnr.state.il.us/lands/landmgt/PARKS/R2/ILBEACH.HTM#Camping

The camp ground is mostly open (except for some wild grasses) but has some trees in the preserve, has 244 Class A sites (I have see bus conversions here in the N/E section, no problem)

road is paved, most sites level or gentle slope
Electricity

The North Point Marina is just 5 miles north
