What a lovely place it is at the Winding River Resort on U.S. 34 about 1/4 mile outside the gate of Rocky Mountain National Park near Grand Lake CO. The camp is 160 acres boardering the Colorado River, Arapaho National Forest and Rocky Mtn. Nat. Park. They have 30 amp service, full hookups in the open field, but some of the water and electric sites in the trees were big enough for my bus if desired. Wes, the owner was a really neat guy and drove us on the hayride. They have horse friendly rv sites and pets are welcome. Elk came down from the park each night to graze near the camp. We met some really friendly work campers and the girl wranglers were all cute things, for sure. The price was $28 per night and we definitely plan on going back someday. 970-627-3215 David |
