From a lot of the discussions regarding the best roadside assistance programs. Coach -net seems to be right up there with the best. What is the best way to become a member of coach-Net? It seems that on their web site you can enroll if you already belong to another group/club. How come BNO isn't a seller of that service Ian?? They have seller applications on the site.

If u are an FMCA member, Coach Net is the endorsed program. I don't know that you have to belong to any group or such, as it appears to me that u can sign up right from their web site.

FMCA is a great way to go, and Coach-Net is a lot cheaper if you go thru them rather than doing it on your own. You can do it individually, but IIRC taking the discount gets you into FMCA for very little.

I can see on the FMCA site the cost to join and the application. however on the coach-net site I can not see any application for to join. From what I understand you are saying it is cheaper overall to join FMCA and then join Coachnet.

Yes. And I've forgotten, but I think I did just call coach-net on their 800 number to get signed up after joining FMCA.

The form is hard to find for some reason:

https://coachnet.coach-net.com/cgi-bin/ccprc101.pgm?provider=FMCA%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20% 20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20&pass=2

It looked funky, even though it appears to be a secure server, so I just called them and skipped the concern.

Paul: Yes, I'm touting FMCA, but not necessarily for the parent organization, but rather, the opportunity to join local chapters. Aside from the benefits of being in FMCA, joining a local chapter or even more than 1, is an excellent opportunity to have some good comraderie with some great people. I belong to 3 chapters, all oriented to converted coaches, and just the knowledge represented by the membership of these organizations is worth it's weight in gold. So, make it easy on yourself, join FMCA, call CoachNet and get the member discount, and then find a chapter that picques your interest and join.

I have found the best part of FMCA is their great mail fowarding service.

With half a year spent at different addresses it usually means loosing half the magazines in any subscription, a pain when you have varied interests.

Cruising,, the FMCA will foward mail to a campground (or marina) or GPO to most towns .

Works really well , except in mid winter when Priority mail gets snow or X-mass bound and takes 6 days!

They also have a great library , so questions like changing the Pos ground on 04's to neg ground are only a copy of an article away.

FMCA , works for me!
