Hi folks, I have received a few e-mails which address the fact that there are a significant number of bulletin boards now. After researching and testing this particular bbs for about the last month or so, I discovered that one of the predominately superior features is the ability to search in numerous ways. The "Last Day" and "Last Week" menu items are probably most useful. If you don't like a "tree view", you can click a button at the bottom of those results pages to view a text list. This text list resembles the old bulletin board system most closely. Although there are several more boards, 10 to be exact, the ability to search extensively makes the board Topics almost irrelevant. They only serve to categorize some of the recognizable divisions within our hobby. That they are all available to be viewed at one web site and from one page, unifies the entire hobby into one location. You have the ease of searching through either the most recent messages or to search by keyword(s). As well, I have the ability to move a message from anywhere and place it in the most appropriate spot. I have done this already with several messages which were wrongly placed in 'THE BOARD | Welcome to THE BOARD' thread. I simply renamed the messages and posted them at the top of the messages list. A couple of clicks of the mouse. As you get used to the new functions, I continue to encourage you to e-mail me with any problems you may be experiencing in using the new bbs. One thing for sure, instead of the corner variety store you've been used to, with only a couple of aisles of shopping available, now you can come and shop in a big, bright supermarket! Enjoy :-) |
