Cummins made both left and right hand engines. Don't know enough to give you a good answer to converting one. FLX used the left hand with the 730 in some transits. |

Nothing's impossible, It may be highly impractical. Never heard of a opposite turning 903, so . . . You'd have to reconfigure the crankshaft, at least the drilling of the oil passages which are "timed" to avoid power strokes. Hopefully not the position of the crankshaft journals (that's means a new crankshaft to those folks in Rio Linda!). The oil pump, water pump camshaft and oil "slingers" [various types] would probably have to have their "rotations" reversed. The Harmonic Dampener would have to be reconfigured, if possible, maybe made one-off. Accessories may also be subject to the same rework. If you're installing this in conjunction with a 730 series Allison, I'd look into a RH conversion of the Tranny, LIR about $1,800.00 (never bought one, myself) Marc Bourget |

Voith ZF(R)? Right hand replacement for V-730 I think they were used in 85 to 90 Flxible 870 Metro's. Tampa Hartline had a bunch with a Cummins 5.9 and the voith combo. There also still may be one of the very rare V-731R allisons out there somewhere. |

Both Voith and ZF make right hand V drive transmissions. The ZF is a 4 speed and the Voith is a 3 speed. I don't think the ZF has a lockup converter though. |
