We are not going to be able to make it to BusN USA and we are bummed! We signed up as vendors quite some time ago and were looking so forward to the event.

Before we get to the reasons for not being able to make it, let me make two apologies ahead of time: first for the cross post and secondly for a slightly off topic post.

The day we left the Gathering (April, 24), Pat came down with a fever and some other symptoms. Her condition has worsened to the point she is not able to leave our bed without assistance. Yesterday she was admitted to the hospital and is undergoing tests. So far, there does not seem to be any really bad prognosis, but the big problem is that they can’t figure out what is wrong. To top it all off, her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer this week. We suspect that her mother will need a lot of help this summer and we are canceling all of our trade show activity for the near future.

So why am I posting this note? First of all, I want to let all of you know how much we will miss not seeing some of you at the event. Secondly, I really feel that the bus folks on these boards are our extended family and I thought I would like for you to know what is going on.

So, if you have a spare moment, we would appreciate it if you would send some positive thoughts our way. Hopefully, Pat’s condition is just a short term set back and we will be at Bussin 2006.

Thanks,

Jim and Pat Shepherd

Sorry to hear of the illness's.

Its always good to know you have someone for support under these circumstances.

There will be other meets for you to attend and your absense from this one will make the next all the better.

Take care of business at present and move on when you can.

From my family to yours, prayers for quick recovery.....

Jim and Pat - my prayers are for you and your family. I lost my mother to cancer a little over a year ago. May god's healing touch and mercy be with your family.

Do keep us informed and know we are pulling for your family.

Jim & Pat,

It was truly a pleasure to meet you at Bussin 2005 and it saddens me hear about the recent sickness and cancer that has come to your family.

My families prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery are heading your way.

As Busnuts we are used to figuring out a problem, maybe ask for some help, get the part and fix it.

When it comes to our health, sometimes we just have to be patient......Not an easy thing to do.

May God bless all of you

Jim I enjoyed meeting you at Bus N USA last year. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles and hope it all works out for you and your family. I'm not a particularly religious person but I do have an expression that I think is appropriate - let go and let God.

We won't be at Bus N USA either - this year it conflicts with the pro Wakeboard tour schedule. My kids won't let me miss being at Wakefest while Bus N USA is on. Maybe next year for both of us.

Jim,

My sincere wishes and prayers for a quick recovery for your wife.

Will be walking in the American Cancer Society Walk for Life this afternoon with my son and daughter. We (and many others) will say an extra prayer for her mom.

Best Regards

Hi Jim & family,
Somehow I erased what I had typed 2 times already, but here goes again. Sorry to hear the news about your wife & mother-in-law. All I'll say at this time is that my wife has beaten Cancer TWICE at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) in Zion IL. PLEASE check their website : www.cancercenter.com - It's a different kind of place - where their only concern is that they eliminate the cancer while treating the "whole person". AND NO ONE ON THIS EARTH HAS THE RIGHT TO TELL YOU WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO LEAVE HERE. That comes from the man upstairs, so the word "terminal" is not even in their vocabulary. They have been successful in beating most any cancer for 30 years with the latest technologies that are available world wide. No, it's not experimental, & everything they do is approved by the FDA, but they do it in a different way - by treating the "whole person" not just the cancer. Check it out & give them a call - all you have to lose is the time to make that call. You're all in our prayers and hope you have many moons of traveling ahead of you.

Jim, best wishes for you and your family in the days to come. Sometimes, things can be real tough.

Thanks for letting us know what's happened. We will hope and pray for better news as treatment progresses.
