If your going to use Transit Scrap , why bother with an Antique engine ? The same bucks will get a DD Series 50 or Cummins or?? A modern 4 stroke will push the milage to 12 or more , although all transit scrap comes with fuel waisting slushpumps. Some are 5 speed tho. You can use (modified) the entire cradle , rear axle with huge brakes and front spindles with sharp cut angle and those big transit brakes too!P/S if you need it for free (if you plumb it up). This will bring the Sportscar of Coaches up another 45 years mechanically , and end the worry of 2 strokes eventually being outlawed by the smog Police. FAST FRED |

The RTS engine will not work in the 4106 unless it is modified to the 45 degree tilt you need. This is not worth the trouble-- there are several other transits that have the tilt you need. --Geoff '82 RTS CA |

Here are some series 50 engines on esurplus. I know nothing about them. I see them on occasion on this site. http://www.publicsurplus.com/IANAuction?ianac=cat&catid=402 |
