I need to change my long transmission dip stick for a short one similar to one from an Automatic transmission behind the Detroit Diesel which sits sideways in the GM busses....don't know years or models.. Can anybody help? |

Jim The easiest way is to shorten the dipstick you have now. Just cut out the required amount put a sleeve over the joint and braze it back together again. You have to make sure that you know where the full cold and hot marks fall and shorten the dipstick accordingly. It is easy to do. Just cut out the same amount as you shortened the tube less about 2" for an overlap then overlap the dipstick and put it back together again with pop rivets. Hope you can understand this. Bill |
