I have the opportunity to buy a Jake Brake setup for my 8v71. It is complete and includes the valve covers, fuel lines, buffer switch (w/ fast idle), valve bridges, extended fuel stands and so on. Price is in the 500 to 550 range with shipping to me. What do you think? It seems like a decent price to me. Any guesses on the labor charge to install this? Thanks for your thoughts! Craig - MC7 |

A set just went on eBay for about that, so it's probably a fair price. If nothing else, eBay is a good indicator for what people will pay. As you probably know, an item is worth about as much as someone is willing to pay. Ross |

The Jake folks will give you Da Book on instalation & maint . After reading it , I decided changing brakes 10 times would be less work than installing one. There are MANY tricks and adjustments , figure 10 to 20 hours with a GOOD experienced DD guy , who has done the instalation & trouble shooting many times before. Good hunting , or just drive to LUKEs,or one of the Left coast shops with a good reputation, FAST FRED |

If you are putting on an Eagle you will need the air intake, they are pretty rare. Bart g |

Bart, What's different on the Eagle air intake if the engine has Jakes or not? I have an 8V92TA. |
