Ok, I have the manual and it says to check the fluid level from the canister drivers side rear in compartment before radiator. I see the reservoir, but all I have is a large nut on the top of the reservoir, no dipstick like the manual shows? What gives? Thanks |

someone must have changed the top cover. the dipe stick should give about 4-6" of expantion space. Is there a vent in the top? if you unscrew the top and have some rood you wshould be ok. Bart G |

I went out and measured my resorvoir on my Eagle 10. It is 5" diameter and 7" tall (excluding the upper and lower necks. The dipstic is 4" long from the top rim of the fill spout. The low mark is at 3 3/4". The full mark is 2 3/4" from the top of the stick if it was inserted into the fill spout. Filling the canister to the full mark on my dip stick would be a bit less expansion space than Bart mentioned, but this description should give you a ballpark amount. If you fill it too full some may get pumped overboard. If it is too low, your pump may start whining. I would rather be too full than low. I can clean up the mess easier than replacing an overheated pump. David Anderson |

Thanks for the info. I have some loose steering I am trying to diagnose. Probably not the pump, but I wanted to know how to check fluid. The steering is nice, but it feels like about 2 or so inches of play I'd rather not have. Any suggestions? |
