We have a MCI-9, and have noticed that in the rear of the bus a lot of heat from the engine compartment whenever operating the bus. Any Suggestions?

Styrofoam insulation sheets at Home Depot are cheap. I'd put them
on the rear wall, the seat base, and the seat base front. Leave
the access hatch on the seat assessable...

Much of the heat you feel is "radiated" from the engine and transmission, much like heat from the sun. Properly applied bubble foil or foam insulation applied with a reflective skin(usually aluminum foil) facing the engine and transmission will help a lot. It worked very well for me around the engine and floor of a class C motor home. Newer refrigerators use this idea.
This stuff is available at hardware stores or outlets specializing in insulation materials.

We manufacture vented & louvered engine door and transmission door body panels. They let a LOT of heat out of the encapsilated compartments that hold all of that heat. If you stand behind an MCI that has our vented panels on it, it's like standing next to an open oven door.

The encapsilated compartments trap the hot air. The only way for the heat to escape is below the bumper. We all know that heat rises. So the hot air keeps getting recycled & "superheated" & can cause all kinds of problems. Heat coming through the floor is uncomfortable & your A/C has to work harder. The heat in the engine compartment causes shutdowns, radiator problems, etc...........Let me know if you need more info, pictures.

The 1" thick "duct board" used to fabricate AC ducts in homes and commercial estab. will work well if you have any concern on fire spread. It is rigid pressed fiberglass with a reinforced foil coating onone side; comes in 4x8 sheets and can easily be cut to size. There are many other types of insulation you could use also, depending on your budget.
