I have an MCI-9 and the compressor for the coach air does not have any belts on it. I don't think the compressor is stuck, b/c it will turn. What kind of expense or trouble mightI be looking at if I tried to get it going. I have roof top a/c that runs of a gen, but I would like to have coach air to help on the really hot days. Thanks |

Or, in my case, 10 cans of 134a at $7.50 a can (from Walmart). |

After over a month, there's no noticible (on the gauges) loss. It was last serviced several years ago when converted to 134a. I figured if I have to add a couple of cans each summer, it's worth it. If I have to add 10 cans several times each summer, I'll definitely reconsider. As it is, it will almost freeze the interior of my mostly factory bus. |

About any pressure left in system, chances are they remove it to transfer other coach or leak out. If no history can be obtain from previous owner about this compressor. I would check why belts was off, could be bad bearing (rod knock) or whatever before spending your hard earn dollars to reload. If you can try hand rocking compressor’s pulley LIGHTLY with clutch energize to feel for rod’s bearing play at all position. If zero movement, chances are rod bearings is ok??? But still unknown condition of piston, pin, rings and main bearing. There is lube’s sight glass bottom side of crankcase to determine level and metal compound shown or appeared. There is a sight glass to determine if any Freon near half of lower glass after thirty (30) minutes while compressor engage. The receiver tank mounted high in condenser compartment (behind left front wheel). It takes 21 lbs of Freon 12. Filter/Dryer is next to receiver tank have sight glass indicate dryness by transparent color. Blue is dry or pink is moisture. FWIW Sojourn for Christ, Jerry |

When I rotate the compressor there is a knock, so obviously there is some problems (rod or bearing). What would be the best option if this is the case? Thanks |

Where are you located? I know a guy in in the DC area that could help. If you really want the coach system to work you might look for a used compressor. Most people when converting trash them. |
