Hi everyone, I apoligize in advance, a little weary at this time. Went to court today, and was railroaded. Will explain later, however need help with ICC parking brake hooked up ASAP. Have three lines coming up through floor, and need to dis-engage via fastest way possible. Towing bus tommorrow by 5pm, or I go to jail for 10 days. Please help |

Just a thought Jack, Hook a gas engined air compressor hose to the "shop fill" schrader valve, secure the compressor in a bay with the compressor running( it has a relief valve), unlock the brakes and tow away. CaSteve |

Good idea, CaSteve. Also, you can back the shoes off the drums via the slack adjusters in a pinch...BTDT. By all means, chock the tires first if you do! If you have an air suspension, you'll still need some air in the bellows to avoid damage, however. Good luck and keep us posted. BB |

I'll clarify. ICC valve is removed, and need to know where the three lines go, how the valve works, so I can either hook the valve up again correctly, or tie the appropriate line up to release the brake. Thanks in advance. |

Jack, posted the text below on the other board. Posting here in case you missed it. Jack, I am not sure I am addressing the correct problem here. My assumption is that you have spring breaks and need to get them released so that you can tow the bus. If that is correct, and if they are the type I am familiar with, you can release them by using a special screw/bolt that is mounted on one or both of the cans. Your use the special bolt to draw up the spring and that releases the brakes. A good tow company will know how to do this. If my assumptions are correct, you need to be very careful if you do this yourself. You seem to be a bit agitated and that is when accidents happen. You will need to block the bus so that it will not come down if one of the air springs let go. Secondly, you will need to block the tires so that the bus does not roll after you release the brakes Also, if you have an auto transmission, you will need to make sure they disconnect the drive shaft or, more likely, pull one of the axles. Pretty sure he has DD3 cans on that 8 (uses two diaphrams and not springs). An air schematic of the system would help, but he'll still have to find out where each copper line goes to make sense of it. Even the emergency fill in the compartment under the driver's seat would require two of these lines to be hooked together, if I'm not mistaken. I spent a whole week under my old 8 trying to make sense of the DD3 system. Good luck! Link to Bendix DD3 datasheet: http://www.bendix.com/downloads/service_data_sheet/024600.pdf BB |

Supply port is same side as exhaust port of "push & pull" valve. 1) Supply port connect to tank 2) Exhaust port connect to tee from foot control valve 3) Control port (opposite of supply port) connects to inversion valve then to can. FWIW Sojourn for Christ, Jerry |

Air up the coach and one line will have air comming out of it . That air will have to go to one of the other 2 lines. One line should be a exhust line and the other will go to the brakes. So if you hook it up wrong the the air will just blow to the ground. You will need to air up the coach so you can make a full foot brake applaction to get the DD2 to unlock when you have them in the release postion. Brian 4905 Oregon |
