I'm in the process of lubricating everything in my bus and changing all the fluids. I have a couple questions about the manual trans. gear oil. I've drained the gear oil. Which plug is the fill plug? There are two plugs located above the drain plug. One that is the same size as the drain plug and one much larger that is higher on the trans. The Eagle manual I bought says to use 40w in the trans. The guys from Tejas Coach said to use 90w, and it would make the pause while shifting a little longer. Can Synthetic gear oil be used? What weight? Should it be GL-4 or GL-5 rated. I know GL-5 can damage some brass parts. I'm also interested in thoughts on the gear oil to use in the differential and miter box. Thanks, Boyd |
