My rear temp gauge isn't connected to the engine. This is an MC-8 with 8V-71. I've looked for a place that it should go, but I can't find anything obvious. I've looked in the manuals, but they don't show where it connects either. I see two temp senders on the right (passenger) side of the engine near the thermostat. There are two senders there already. Where would I hook this up? Thanks! |

Do you have a mechanical guage for the rear, identified by a bourdon tube and sensing bulb rather than wires going to it? If so, the sensing bulb well inserts into the thermostat housing thru one of the available pipe plugs in there. Some guages do not use a well fitting, but instead just rely on insertion of the sensing element (bulb) and a compression nut or packing nut around them to seal the water chamber.
If ure guage has wires and electric to it, then the sender unit inserts in the area of the other senders. Most rear guages are of the thermal-mechanical type(sensing bulb) |

Yes, mine's the mechanical gauge with a tube and bulb. I see a couple of places that it could go, but like I said, there are two electric senders in them. I guess I'll remove a couple possible places for it until I find one that'll work (and try to avoid a coolant shower!). Thanks. |
