what are some possible reason why the engine doesn't shut right down when the switch is shut off. it just chugs for 10-15 seconds than stops..started yesterday when I got home from a weekend rally. Bus ran very hot on way home. according to the gauge about 200-210 never ran that hot before..outside temp was about 90-95.. |

How is your oil level? Is it possible that the engine is running off the crankcase oil? |

Have you looked to see how fast the shut off cyl is comming out at the motor gov. ? Is it slow to move or comes out fast and the motor still runs? Maybe there is a ground wire problem and the gauge is reading hotter then it realy is and could but the same problem why the shut off is slow not getting full power back there? Both problems new and happing at the same time I would check the wiring. Brian 4905 Oregon |

Check for full voltage at shutoff solonoid. we sometimes have to lift the throttle pedal also. |

Dan, I would suggest it may be the skinner valve/ or the fork that pushes the rack to the off position. Something may have come loose with the fork that is pushed by the skinner valve to shut down the engine. There is an adjustment and lock nuts on this fork. On your heating problem, Did your hot light come on?? One of the problems we do have with these 04/671,s is the overheating if everthing is not RIGHT.Check to see if your fan is loose/by trying gently to move it up and down, could be slipping? Do you have a $30 temp gun to check and see if the thermostats are working correctly? Your radiator could be bad? I would not waste my time rodding, when you can recore for $600 or $700 and have a better than factory radiator. Let us know what you find. John |
