Alright, I am done replacing rubber hinges. Can someone point me to the people who are making the life time replacement hinges. I know this has come up in the past but I need a refresher.

Thanks and have a great day.

It should also be possible to figure out why stock hinges go a decade or more for most folks , and yours fail.

Air assist struts on one side?

Oil for as instalation lubricant?

What happened?

Ditto here...I replaced mine barely 2 mo. ago with fresh stock from Luke and their already tearing and rotting....The doors are a very good fit so I know that's not the cause.....I think if you park outside without protection from the sun it's a waste of time messing with rubber hinges. Next year I'll buy a portable garage to park it in. here's the site with reasonable prices... http://www.guytoys.net/closeddo.htm
I just hope they last that long....

I thought just replacing the old rubber hinges would do the trick. And I agree why do they keep tearing, less than 12 months. Or is that why there is a market for the stainless hinges.

Anymore comment what I should look for before going stainless.

The replacement rubber is crap . My factory rubber hinges are still lasting good a few cracks.
I also on the AC compartment replaced a 3" rubber hinge with some new in the box rubber hinge well it lasted 1 day and ripped in two.

Somthing about replacement rubber is just junk same with rubber parts you get for classic cars it last only a year when the factory stuff lasted 40 years.

Some one had posted they had for sale replacement rubber hinges made from conveor belt type rubber . I think that would last longer.
I think the factory rubber hinge had coards like a tire in them and the replacement dont.
I have 4 boxs of rubber hinges free for any one that wants them its no good for any thing.

We have four years on ours, but we don't know where they came from, since they were on the coach when we bought it. They're still doing fine.

I am also aware of some corded hinge material that cracked within a year.

For what it's worth.

There are different grades of rubber. We have chosen the better grade. I had one lady that was so angry about her rubber tearing after a short time. She was giving me the third degree at the 2000 Bus Conversions rally in Laughlin. She then said "I will show you the invoice, it was only (2) months ago......" I offered to replace it, when she came back with the invoice "MCI Service Parts"....... She bought the rubber from us & called (3) years later to tell me ours was still working fine. I have also heard that at one time MCI has a line of wiper blades made in China that leave a black streak on the windshields.

I purchased hinge rubber for my 4106 from International Bus and it had it for years, no problems.
