Just wondering...How many miles do you use your bus a year??? We've slowed down a bunch , our average for the last couple of years is just 27,000 miles per year..down from over 50,000..(we were chasing the antique show circuit), now just a few shows a year...How about you..

About 6000 or so if we go boating as we are doing this summer, more if land locked.

Any Nuts on the Hudson , Erie Canal , Toronto (maybe) , Ontario , Quebec City or on Lake Champlain are invited to visit as we steam thru this summer.

Will do a 2 month run to spend some cash in Canada , to help their failing socalized medicine system..And see some historical stuff ect.

2000 miles a year,
We just got back from the UK Were they are trying to hold up there socalized medical system with Prices like $3.00 for a coffee, $100.00 to fill up a toyota corrola,$200.00 a night hotels. $ $30.00 a head meals and 17% tax an everything.
An artical in the newspaper said the social security in the UK for retired people would run out in 5 years.

About 6,000 miles a year... 20,000 miles now since my old Crown was a nasty messed up ugly yellow skoolie.

Being a late-30's couple with three young kids (8, 6 & 4), we'll rack up about 4k - 8k miles/year RV'ing.

Two or three long trips + a half-dozen local(ish) camping trips.

Once I can find a way to reliably make $ on the road, we'll do more/longer trips.

About 8k last year...so far this year, doubt if much over 1000. Full tank, though! :-)

In this part of the world (NM) it is just too hot in the desert... and the heights haven't looked that good of late. But after the crowd this weekend gets back home, I may head for the Gila Mtns. and Alpine AZ. Beautiful, and hopefully kooooool.

Fred,
If you make down the Erie into central New York, stop by the Ilion Marina, nice little marina with hookups. About a dozen Rv'ers make it their summer home. A few blocks away is the Remington Arms Museum (if your into guns and hunting).
I live about 1 mile away, be glad to stop by and say hello.

I drove just at 3400 miles in June. That included a trip to and from Texas in my MC9, and then a trip from Anaheim to my home in eastern Nebraska with a new (to me) Eagle conversion. A couple, short trips to area state parks sound good to me now, with far less mileage involved.

I think we've got close to 40,000 miles on ours since we bought it 4 years ago. We get three or four trips per year of about 2 1/2 weeks each.

The only things that have went bad on us are a Dometic fridge, an RV 12 volt fluorescent light, clutch and reverse linkage bolts and starter, and three batteries, that I can think of.

None of the above put us out of business, but the starter delayed us one day and we did without the fridge for around 10 days. The bolts were replaced as needed.

I guess that we've been pretty lucky. The only complaint that I know of is that the coach is stored so far away.

We've spent some money on catch up and preventative maintenance and we've made improvements, but the upkeep has seemed reasonable, so far.

Only 2000 miles the first 8 months that we had it because we were waiting for some money so we could update the interior/windows and get new tires. 15 states and 10,000 miles the next 6 months then spent the winter,(5 months), in Yuma. In the last 3 months another 2000 miles....been stationary for the last 5 weeks but doing a short trip, (300 miles one way) on thursday to Rickreall for the rally and maybe down to Eugene,(another 65 miles) to meet John Stahr then back up here to the Seattle area for the rest of the summer. Come fall it will be back to Yuma by a roundabout route that will put close to another 2000 miles on the old girl.

Since we are still working and don't have the time, out average use of the bus conversion is about 5,000 miles a year.

About 70,000 since we put the 6V92 in the 4104. We've been to San Diego, Fairbanks, Caribou ME, Key West and a lot of TX.

On a 58 day 22 vehicle caravan of Alaska (with mostly newer diesel pusher motorhomes) our 50 year old 4104 was the only vehicle that did not have a problem. Wife said it was a good thing since I was working every night on one or another of the stick built units to get it back on the road by morning. You can't beat good engineering, even 50 year old enginerring.
