Friends -

Fellow busnut and 4106 owner Kenny Cole, of Merced, CA, passed away quietly in his sleep early Saturday morning from a brain tumor. Services will be at 10 am this Wednesday, Stratford Evans Funeral Home in Merced.

Kenny, besides being a devout Christian, had probably the most positive outlook I've ever known - especially for a fellow who endured a tremendous amount of pain and suffering within his own life.

He was a frequent contributor to this and other busnut bulletin boards when his health was better as he went about the process of reconverting his own coach. Altho he liked to say that the best jobs he did were "holding up the dumb end of things" as someone with more expertise helped him with a project, the work he did on his own was very well done, for the most part. A favorite tag line to his postings was frequently the tongue-in-cheek comment "Re-converting is so much fun."

Kenny always ended his posts with "Lord Bless You", and I shall end this one with the thought that the Lord has finally blessed Kenny, too. May he rest in peace. . .

Thanks RJ,

I considered Kenny a good friend. Although I never got the opportunity to personally meet him, we shared several e-mails with each other.

Within each e-mail, we would always share a word of encouragement and prayer with each other. I also had the priviledge to send Kenny several of our groups CDs'. Every time that he heard a song the he liked...he'd send me a note.

I thank Mr. Ed Carroll for getting us together.

Again, thanks RJ.

Thanks, RJ. He was feeling pretty tough in May when we visited. While losing him saddens us, we are glad that his suffering is over.

I expect that his wife, Jackie, will need some help in the near future. There are many problems to deal with, but she has been doing a top notch job keeping things together.

My main hope is that she will be able to get back to some kind of a normal life soon. They were fortunate in having some good neighbors.

Thanks RJ,
I met Kenny and Jackie when I picked up a transmission from him and we spend a little time together. I had a great time sharing experiences with him and it saddens me to find that he's gone. My heart goes to Jackie and their close ones.
God bless Kenny...

Juan, were you trying to do some work with that transmission to add some options to these GMs? Ed Carroll mentioned something about the fellow who bought Kenny's transmission.

Thanks to RJ for his notice of Kenny's passing. Knowing Kenny quite well, I can vouch for everything RJ said about him.
Kenny and I became acquainted via an RV board in '97 or so when he was looking into motorhomes but hadn't considered buses.
I'm afraid it was in great part my influence that steered him into his reconversion project.
Through the years, we got together with Kenny and Jackie at least annually as we passed through Merced and were in frequent contact.
During a phone conversation with her just last night, Jackie informed my wife she intends to turn the 4106 over to a friend in MO who will dispose of it for her.
Kenny's intent was to travel with his bus to minister to people around the country who, like Kenny & Jackie, were true believers in Christ but did not wish to be involved with an organized church.
For this reason, Jackie wishes to donate the bus to a ministry or to sell it and donate the money.
Anyone who would like to help her in this endeavor is welcome to do so. RJ, Ed Carol or myself can put you in contact with Jackie.
