Rapper Eminem's Anger Management are the injured in Missouri bus crash Charlie Amter writes on E.Online.com that the previously reported serious accident Wednesday night, July 13, near Odessa,MO,involved rap music star Eminem's entourage and members of his Anger Management band, including Em's deejay, Alchemist and up-and-coming rapper Stat Quo. Amter says that according to MTV News, Alchemist suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung, and is currently receiving care at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. Eminem protégé Stat Quo was treated for bruises and released from Independence Regional Health Center in Independence, Missouri. Stat Quo's manager, Joseph Fendrick, and Alchemist's manager, Neil Maman, are listed in fair to good condition after being treated at medical facilities near the crash site. The tour bus driver, Charlie Gilligard, is also said to be well considering the ferocity of the impact. Other passengers on the coach are also listed in fair or good condition Thursday. Per MTV, which obtained a copy of the Missouri Highway Patrol accident report, the bus crashed early Wednesday evening on a busy section of Interstate 70. According to the report, the coach was "traveling at a high rate of speed" when its driver attempted to avoid slower-moving tractor-trailers by swerving onto the highway's shoulder. However, the driver clipped one of the trucks, causing a chain reaction on the highway, which involved several other cars and two motorcyclists. Eventually, the bus overturned on the highway median, and lay on its side after veering into oncoming traffic lanes. A stretch of the highway had to be closed for more than two hours after the pileup. Amter writes that despite the major accident, the Anger Management 3 tour will press on -- albeit without Alchemist. The rappers are en route for a Sunday gig in Auburn, Washington. The pictures from the local TV station showed the bus sitting upright on its wheels and tracks indicating the bus swapped ends and backed across the median.. Who knows?? |

Dr. Dave: Same thing I saw. You could see the tire marks into and on the grass with no indication that it went over. There were no wreckers in the pics I saw, just a couple of FD trucks. |

The bus looks in fantastic shape for rolling it at 85-90mph. Consequently, I don't believe it rolled (although some on the bus, including the driver, may have been rolling something). Crazy. |

You know how the news reports get distorted or get things completely wrong. The AP reporter wasn't there and probably wrote the story based on very little factual information and the need to sensationalize stuff to validate their existance. What really happens and the resulting report depends on what kind of news day the reporters are having. $$$$$$$ |

They don't distinguish between "rolling off the wheels onto it's side" or "barrel rolls" in traffic accident reports. They just count the total times a complete roll occurred (ie., causing the vehicle to completely overturn 6 times...). The Assoicated Press story seems to indicate that it "fell over" when it ran into the truck. They will tell you though if it did an "end over end", which anyonewill tell you is a heck of a lot tougher... unless you "had the good stuff"! Tim |

More like it "rolled" off the road and across the median. Maybe they confuse "rotating horizontally" ( spun around??? ) with rolling? I have watched 4 TV stations report the same exact incident all slightly different and they all got it totally wrong, Wrong names, wrong city and even wrong events. I witnessed an incident directly. I saw what, who & how. You would think that they would get at least some part correct. Nope! Not even close... Miserably Failed reporters become the weather team people. ( at least here in Florida! ) Not a flippin Clue !!!!! |
