R&M fiberglass or a metal roofing supplier. Most sheet metal shops do not deal in anything longer than 10'. So, if u want a seamless sidewall in metal, you will likely not find it at your local sheet metal shop. A metal roof manufacturer has continuous sheet up to abt. 48" wide which they use to roll into raised rib roofing. Comes in guages from 16-28. Two 15'x48" 20 guage cost me $120, 3 yrs. ago. |

Check the BNO Archives for wide/long/smooth siding, since previously there were suppliers listed (St. Louis?) for 6 ft. wide 40 ft. long FRP panels. Good Luck. Alexander Aeroplane (.com)has aluminum sheets and rolls in extraordinary sizes. G'Luck...JJ |

Try Metal Supermarkets, they are the source I'm using for my conversion. No rolls of steel/aluminum, but very large sheet sizes. If you use sheetmetal, preheat the metal to ~250 degF, before mounting it. This will help if you weld by reducing heat stress fractures, and if you rivet by preventing "oil-canning" (ripples in the metal on hot days). You can usually rent an oil-fired heater to do this. Cheers! Tim |
